Entry #1 - November 27, 2008

Titan Fans,

I am supposed to be writing a paper tonight, but I found myself constantly dosing off thinking about the game tomorrow. So I thought writing a player journal would be a good break from being a student-athlete for a while.

First of all, I would like to say that the Wesleyan basketball tradition is amazing. It is an honor to play here at IWU that no one but us TITANS will ever understand. It is remarkable how even on road games we have more fans than the other team. You guys sure do make this a special place, and we can't thank you enough.

Tomorrow ends our hectic beginning of the year schedule, 6 games in 12 days. Through our first five games we have played well. We are 4-1, with a hiccup vs. Ohio Wesleyan over the Thanksgiving weekend. Tomorrow night we play St. Xavier who has won their last four games. With the schedule we play every game is tough, and tomorrow is no different. I look forward to seeing you there!

On a personal note, this year has been drastically different then my freshman year. Going from never dressing a varsity game to significant minutes is definitely a transition (I can no longer eat $15 worth of food at Bob Evan's for our pre-game meal). That first time steeping onto the Shirk Center floor for warm-ups last Tuesday was a rush. I can't say enough about this group of guys on the team on and off the court. If you know this team, everyone is great person and I truly love that about IWU basketball. Playing with these guys makes me want to give it that extra effort to win for US. I believe we will be making a lot NOISE in the CCIW this year, and I invite you all along for the ride!!! It feels amazing to be apart of a winning team, and we will never be anything else.

I would also like to give a shout out to Dweezey (Sean Dwyer) and Jason Bloom. They both are injured right now. Sean is out with a fractured foot and Jason with a stress fracture in his shin. I talked to Sean after the Judson game this weekend and he said his surgery went well, and now just rest is the best thing for him. Hope to see you two guys back on the floor soon.

As I leave I would like the Myers family to know that I am praying for you. Your son was a tremendous part of my life and I will always cherish our times we had together as friends on and off the court. Hope to see you soon. RIP #32…

Hope you all had a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
